Itching after sunburn is a common symptom. Itching enhances the burn and become very painful. So moisturize the skin as well as take an Anti-itching drug for 3 to 5 days to reduce itching.

You can take anti inflammatory pill to reduce the pain and swelling of sunburn but this can be taken only in severe cases. Anti inflammatory pills not only reduces the pain but also reduces the swelling and redness caused by sunburn.
How long does sunburn last?
How long it lasts will depend on how severe the sunburn is: Mild sunburn will continue for approximately 3 days. Moderate sunburn lasts for around 5 days and is often followed by peeling skin. Severe sunburn can last for more than a week, and the affected person may need to seek medical advice.
